What is AITP?
The Association for Information Technology Professionals is a professional association comprised of career minded individuals who seek to expand their potential -- employers, employees, managers, programmers, and many others. The Northeastern Wisconsin Chapter is currently the largest chapter in North America with over 200 professionals holding membership with us (Map).
The organization seeks to provide avenues for all their members to be teachers as well as students and to make contacts with other members in the I.T. field, all in an effort to become more marketable in rapidly changing, technological careers.
Our chapter, The Northeastern Wisconsin Chapter, hosts regular meetings throughout the year with a variety of topics being covered. We are a very active chapter with about 75 members regularly attending our monthly meetings which typically includes 3 session tracks, social hour, dinner, and an after-dinner speaker.
Our chapter is always looking for input on topics for discussion and learning. We have a high standard of competence and professional attitude. We work at increasing awareness of how information processing impacts society and stress the importance of responsibility of our members to society and employers.

History
The AITP roots begin in the 1950s by a group of technically minded people who saw that technology was moving so fast that there would be a need for technically minded people like themselves to have a users group as a resource they could turn to in order to keep ahead.
