In this presentation, "SharePoint Framework", Brent Hollenkamp introduces the audience to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS). The presentation will provide an overview of the feature/functionality of MOSS. The latest version of MOSS can be deployed by organizations to server in a number of different roles including: workgroups, intranet portals, internet portals, enterprise content management, federated search and business intelligence. Content will include a review of MOSS with its major feature upgrades, the differences between MOSS and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS). The presentation will show how SharePoint has been deployed including a short demo of the product as an intranet and as a customer facing internet. A short Q&A session will be available during the event, and the speaker will provide additional demonstrations/Q&A time after the formal event.
Speaker bio:
Brant Hollenkamp has been the manager of Application Development Services for MSI Systems Integrators in Bloomington, MN, since June 2007. He brings nearly 15 years of IT industry experience, including management, engineering, and technical support and architecture to his role. Mr. Hollenkamp is an experienced IT executive who excels at building and managing successful relationships with clients and partners with a proven record of delivering innovative technology solutions that meets and exceeds the business needs of clients
He manages MSI's application development to ensure timeliness and completion of projects, as well as customer satisfaction with the products MSI offers. He has a bachelor's degree in government from Saint Johns University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and holds certifications as a Microsoft Certified Engineer and Cisco Certified Engineer.
Previously, Mr. Hollenkamp worked for Target Corporation in a variety of different roles, including technical architect, project lead, manager of wireless services, manager of mobility services, group manager of mobile and PC services, and, most recently, group manager of corporate intranet development. His primary duties in his most recent position comprised:
- Championing the adoption of project management and Six Sigma disciplines to improve team project execution.
- Seeking out be peers in the organization to act as a coach for their team members.
- Leading initiative to identify and resolve performance- and stability-related challenges. These changes resulted in a 75% improvement in site performance.
- Managing the deployment of a new web-based application that improved key communication processes with store team members.
- Improving team relationships with technology partners and business clients.
- Implementing an off-shore strategy for application enhancements with Target Services India resulting in a 30% improvement in productivity
Prior to Target Corporation, Mr. Hollenkamp worked for Comdisco in systems and network engineering roles. As a systems engineer, he was responsible for the design and implementation of Microsoft server solutions for Fortune 500 companies, including American Honda and Boeing. As a network engineer, Mr. Hollenkamp was the lead engineer for several Fortune 500 companies to complete Cisco and Nortel network designs, security designs, and implementations.
